Investment opportunities and economic cooperation were the main focus of the Ethio–Cyprus Investment Forum March 2026, a high-level event held on Friday, 13 March 2026, in Nicosia. The forum was organized by the Embassy of Ethiopia to Cyprus in collaboration with the Honorary Consul of Ethiopia to Cyprus.
The Forum brought together entrepreneurs, investors, senior government officials, diplomats, institutional representatives, and business leaders from both countries to explore new investment prospects and strengthen bilateral economic partnerships.
During the Forum, participants discussed prospects for collaboration in key areas, including agribusiness, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, energy and renewable resources, information and communication technologies (ICT), tourism and hospitality, infrastructure and construction, shipping and maritime services, as well as financial and professional services.
Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Mr. Harry Anagnostaras-Adams, Honorary Consul of Ethiopia to Cyprus, followed by addresses by H.E. Demitu Hambisa Bonsa, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Cyprus, and Stelios Makriyiannis, Head of the Africa Department, Political Affairs Directorate at the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the framework of the event, representatives from the Ethiopian Investment Commission presented Ethiopia’s investment priorities, outlining the country’s strategic sectors, reforms, and incentives aimed at attracting international investors. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion between Ethiopian and Cypriot stakeholders, allowing participants to explore concrete collaboration and partnership opportunities.
The Forum marked an important milestone in further strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between Ethiopia and Cyprus while fostering new channels for trade, investment, and business cooperation.
Anagnostaras-Adams, highlighted the significance of the Forum, stating: “This Forum reflects our shared commitment to building stronger ties between Ethiopia and Cyprus. By bringing together the business communities and institutional stakeholders of the two countries, we are paving the way to meaningful partnerships, sustainable investment, and long-term economic cooperation that will benefit both Ethiopia and Cyprus, based on mutual respect and common interests.”
