The position that "we are not called upon to design only buildings but also integrated living environments" was stated at the 20th Real Estate, Property Development & Construction Conference & Exhibition organised by Altia by the Chairman of the Cyprus Property Developers Association and Chairman of Imperio Group, Yiannis Misirlis.
Within the framework of the conference, Misirlis made the opening statement, highlighting the key developments that are currently shaping the real estate and land development market in Cyprus, as well as the prospects of the sector in an environment characterised by increased investment interest and also significant challenges.
As he noted, "we are currently in a period of transformation. The market and the construction sector no longer function only as indicators of economic activity, but are development tools, social policy tools and planning tools for the way we live in our cities."
At the same time, he underlined that "Cyprus is evolving, people's needs are changing and with them the role of our industry is changing", emphasising that "we are called to create spaces that combine quality, functionality and social balance, offering solutions that meet the needs of families, employees and future generations."
The durability of real estate and construction
Referring to international developments, he noted that "in periods of geopolitical tension, the first thing required is sobriety and responsibility," pointing out that "it is absolutely normal for any period of instability to create a climate of caution in the markets."
As he emphasised, "the Cypriot economy and especially the real estate and construction sectors have proven over time that they are resilient to crises and have the ability to adapt even to the most difficult circumstances."
Finally, he underlined that "Cyprus remains a safe European destination with strong institutions and a reliable business environment," adding that the real estate development sector "continues to be one of the main pillars of the country's economic activity and development path."
