The World's Billionaires is an annual list of people who are considered to have a net worth of $1 billion or more. The ranking was first published in March 1987. It should be noted that the total net worth of each individual on the list is estimated and cited in United States dollars, based on their documented assets and accounting for debt and other factors. The list does not include royalty and dictators whose wealth comes from their positions and also avoids ranking billionaires with wealth that cannot be completely ascertained.
This year's List includes 3,428 billionaires, the highest number so far and 400 more than in 2025. Also, in total, the world's billionaires are $4 trillion richer than last year, with their wealth now standing at $20.1 trillion, another record. The average billionaire's fortune is $5.8 billion, up from $5.3 billion in 2025. Elon Musk tops the list overall, with $839 billion in wealth.
It is worth noting that John Christodoulou, founder and owner of the Yianis Group, a London-based real estate firm with properties in the U.K. and Europe was born in Cyprus and has close ties with the country but has UK citizenship. Overall, he is listed at No. 3137 on Forbes' 2026 World's Billionaires List.
