Producer prices in Industry rose marginally by 0.2% year-on-year in January 2026, while declining by 0.6% on a monthly basis, according to data released by CySTAT.
More specefically, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in Industry for January 2026 reached 122.1 points (base year 2021=100), recording a decrease of 0.6% compared with December 2025. Compared with January 2025, the index posted an increase of 0.2%.
On a monthly basis, in January 2026 compared with December 2025, increases were recorded in water supply and materials recovery (1.9%), mining and quarrying (0.4%) and manufacturing (0.2%). In contrast, a significant decrease of 4.4% was registered in electricity supply.
On an annual basis, increases were observed in mining and quarrying (7.9%), water supply and materials recovery (0.9%) and manufacturing (0.6%). A decrease of 2.1% was recorded in electricity supply.
By manufacturing sector, in January 2026 compared with January 2025, increases were recorded in the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (5.0%), manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (4.3%), manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (1.6%), manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (0.8%) and manufacture of refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products and pharmaceutical products and preparations (0.6%).
Decreases were recorded in the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products (-0.3%) and in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (-0.3%).
