The European University Cyprus (EUC) has submitted an official application for a license to establish and operate a university campus in Greece, marking a historic milestone in the institution’s international growth strategy.
The new branch will operate under the name:
European University Cyprus – Athens Branch (EUC Athens)
In its initial phase, the EUC Athens campus will be developed on a 50,000m2 site in the area of Pallini Attica, with expansion capacity reaching up to 100,000m2. The campus is designed as a state-of-the-art academic and research hub, built to meet the highest international standards in higher education.
The master development plan provides for:
- Modern amphitheaters and technologically advanced classrooms
- High-technology research laboratories
- Simulation and clinical training laboratories
- Comprehensive library facilities
- Dedicated student support services
- Student life and social interaction spaces
- Advanced digital and technological infrastructure
EUC Athens will launch with four Schools, reflecting the University’s established academic excellence and strong market relevance:
- School of Medicine

- School of Business Administration and Digital Technologies
- School of Law
The academic model will integrate research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and applied learning, contributing substantially to the evolution and internationalization of higher education in Greece.
EUC Athens will collaborate with leading research, innovation, and entrepreneurship organizations in Greece and internationally. A flagship strategic partnership has already been established with the Athens Medical Group, ensuring high-level clinical training opportunities for students in Medicine and Health Sciences.
The initial investment, exceeding €50 million, is expected to generate significant economic and social value by:
- Creating new high-quality employment opportunities
- Strengthening the regional and national economy
- Attracting international students from across Europe and beyond
- Positioning Greece as an emerging educational and research hub in the region
Accepting student applications will be announced upon completion of the licensing procedure and the required evaluations by:
- The Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE)
- The Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA)
EUC Athens builds on the strong academic legacy and international experience of European University Cyprus, including the successful establishment in 2022 of the first overseas branch of a Cypriot university — the European University Cyprus Frankfurt campus.
European University Cyprus is a member of Galileo Global Education, the largest higher education group in Europe, with a network of 54 institutions and more than 300,000 students across 13 countries.
