Over 76% of young people in Cyprus used AI tools in 2025, Eurostat finds

In 2025, 76.5% of young people aged 16-24 in Cyprus used generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, according to data released today by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat). This figure is significantly higher than the EU average, where 63.8% of young people reported using AI.

Across the EU, young people are increasingly integrating AI into various aspects of daily life. For private use, 44.2% of young people employed AI tools, while 39.3% used them for educational purposes—compared with just 9.4% of the general population. Professional use remains relatively limited at 15.8%, reflecting the fact that many young people have not yet entered the labor market, Eurostat notes.

Among EU countries, the highest proportions of young AI users were recorded in Greece (83.5%), Estonia (82.8%) and Czechia (78.5%), while the lowest were observed in Romania (44.1%), Italy (47.2%) and Poland (49.3%).
