Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Nicodemos Damianou is paying a working visit to Brussels as part of Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
According to an announcement by the Deputy Ministry, during his visit Damianou will present the priorities of the Cyprus EU Presidency in areas of his competence to the European Parliament. He will address the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO) jointly with the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, as well as the Industry, Research and Energy Committee (ITRE) together with the Ministers of Energy and Defence.
As part of the visit, Damianou will also deliver a keynote address at the 18th European Space Conference and take part in a fireside chat at a Politico event titled 'Back in the game? Europe’s race to digital leadership.'
The discussion will focus on the Cyprus EU Presidency priorities regarding technological sovereignty and digital infrastructure.
In parallel, the Deputy Minister will brief European media on the objectives and plans of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU in the areas of digital policy, cybersecurity, space, research and innovation.
