Constantinos Ioannou highlights the Interior Ministry's achievements during 2025

The achievements of the Ministry of Interior in 2025 have been highlighted in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Constantinos Ioannou, announcing substantial changes in the Departments of Town Planning and Land Registry in 2026.

As he notes, "in a few hours we will say goodbye to 2025, a year with significant challenges, but also substantial reforms."

As the Ministry of Interior, Constantinou adds:

  • We further strengthened housing policy, providing more solutions and choices, especially for young people and young couples.
  • By streamlining the management of Turkish Cypriot properties, we have strengthened transparency, equality and meritocracy.
  • We implemented rapid development licensing, reducing delays and inconvenience for citizens and businesses.
  • With the urban planning amnesty, we enabled thousands of our fellow citizens who remained trapped for years to issue property titles.

"In 2026, we are moving forward with substantial changes in the Departments of Town Planning and Land Registry, aiming for modern services, less bureaucracy and better service," he emphasises.

Tomorrow, Ioannou continues, "our country assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It is an important responsibility , but also a great opportunity to actively contribute to European decisions and to strengthen the voice and prestige of Cyprus in Europe."

"I wish everyone health, strength and a better 2026," the Minister of Interior concludes.
