The opening of the 22nd store for Lidl Cyprus on Kyriakou Matsi Avenue, in Ayios Dometios marks another dynamic investment by the company in the local market with a total cost of €11 million.
The recent opening of this store strengthens both the company's presence in Nicosia, with nine stores now in the capital, and reflects its strategy for the continuous development and modernisation of its network.
€40 million investment plan
At the same time, as InBusinessNews has been informed, Lidl Cyprus is dynamically continuing its investments and is already implementing an investment plan which is expected to reach a total of €40 million by 2027 to modernise the store network and strengthen the supply chain.
The company's goal is to offer even more modern stores, with an emphasis on sustainability and customer experience, and to create the foundations for a truly worthwhile everyday life for everyone.
The broader upgrade between 25th March and Kyriakou Matsi
The project confirms Lidl Cyprus' ongoing effort for the continuous development of the local community and economy. More specifically, within the framework of the major project, part of the Lidl Cyprus development work included the upgrade of the intersection of 25th March and Kyriakou Matsi streets, with a complete replacement of traffic lights and "smart" pedestrian traffic management, as well as improvements to Kyriakou Matsi Street, with the aim of improving traffic and enhancing pedestrian and driver safety.
It is worth mentioning that within the framework of the project, a green space was also delivered, with a playground, with a pedestrian walkway, landscaping and the integration of materials from the previous land use, thus contributing to the circular and sustainable management of resources. These initiatives were implemented in close collaboration with the Municipality of Agios Dometios and the relevant state services, ensuring that the projects meet the needs of the area.
