Cyprus Seeds hosted 'Seeds & Stories Behind the Headlines' media gathering at Amyth Hotel Nicosia

Cyprus Seeds was delighted to host members of the media community on 3 December at the boutique Amyth Hotel in Nicosia for 'Seeds & Stories Behind the Headlines' — a special evening dedicated to sharing the stories behind its mission: nurturing academic teams as they transform innovative research into market-ready solutions.

The event attracted representatives from leading media outlets whose presence and engagement helped amplify the impact of Cyprus Seeds’ work and the achievements of its teams. This gathering was designed as a “give‑back” to the media community, recognising the vital role journalists and media organisations play in supporting and amplifying Cyprus Seeds’ voice across the island and beyond.

A special thank you was extended to Amyth of Nicosia, Thanos Michaelides (CEO of Amyth and Thanos Hotels & Resorts),  Stelios Papas (Hotel Manager), and the entire Amyth team for generously sponsoring and hosting the gathering. Guests enjoyed warm hospitality, excellent food, and a guided tour of the hotel’s beautifully renovated premises nestled within the 16th-century Venetian walls of Nicosia’s Old Town.

Welcome remarks were delivered by Cyprus Seeds Chairman, Jeremy Downward, alongside the hotel’s owner, setting the tone for an inspiring evening. Over drinks and light bites, Cyprus Seeds shared its latest milestones, exciting developments from its 4th cohort, and a glimpse into what lies ahead — including Demo Day 2026.

Our Managing Director also thanked all the important donors and partners of Cyprus Seeds, including the universities and the PHAETHON Centre of Excellence, for their valuable support.
