Fourteen Cypriot startups representing the new generation of innovative ideas and technologies emerging from the country made a strong impression at SLUSH 2025, one of the world’s leading innovation and startup festivals.
SLUSH 2025 took place in Helsinki on 19–20 November, gathering more than 13,000 participants, including 3,500 investors and 6,000 startup founders from around the world, and provided a unique platform for networking and showcasing cutting-edge innovation, a Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) announcement notes.
The Cyprus delegation consisted of RIF executives and representatives of 14 Cypriot startups that have been funded or supported through RIF programmes. These include GetCrew, Sim4Flow, Movingdoors, Wedding Aliens, Mentormatic, Appreci, Mamatech, Rinnoco, MetaForge Labs, Nanomicron, S.E. Compass Medical, Algamol, GENIONS BIOLAB, and Vycto. The participating companies presented their work and the pioneering solutions they offer in fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, medical technology, digital innovation, and sustainable development.
According to the announcement, throughout meetings and interactions held during the event, members of the Cypriot delegation highlighted the dynamic growth of the local research and innovation ecosystem, positioning Cyprus as an emerging technology hub in the wider Southeast European region.
Theodoros Loukaidis, Director General of RIF, stated, “Cyprus is now home to a new generation of visionary founders, proving that innovation knows no boundaries. Through RIF’s flagship programmes, we empower startups to strengthen their capabilities, attract private investment, and grow internationally. Our presence at SLUSH 2025 highlights the dynamic of our ecosystem and Cyprus’ commitment to actively contributing to global technological progress.”
RIF’s participation in the SLUSH festival forms part of the Foundation’s broader efforts to enhance international networking, attract investment and strengthen the extroversion of Cypriot companies, providing startups with access to global markets, collaborations and investment opportunities, the annoncement concluded.
