Cyprus Seeds announced the renewed commitment of The Hellenic Initiative (THI), a founding donor whose steadfast commitment, it said, continues to empower the next generation of Cypriot innovators.
It added in a press release, "THI has played a vital role in our journey and their continued support for the 7th year is a tangible testimony of the support that Greeks and Cypriots of the Diaspora demonstrate in fostering deep-tech innovation and research commercialization in Cyprus".
Cyprus Seeds is a non-profit, private organization in Cyprus, with the vision to commercialise innovative academic research and create a pipeline of deep-tech spin-offs. To achieve this, Cyprus Seeds runs an 18-month Innovation Grant Program which provides grants, mentoring, training, and networking opportunities with investors in Cyprus and abroad. Furthermore, Cyprus Seeds is a partner in two flagship initiatives in Cyprus, supported by the European Commission and the Cyprus Government.
"Since its inception, Cyprus Seeds has benefited immensely from THI’s visionary backing in helping local scientists to transform cutting edge research into market-driven solutions and become entrepreneurs," it said. "THI’s support has enabled us to fund and mentor multiple high-potential research teams from Cypriot universities, to take their innovative research to the market. With THI’s renewed sponsorship, we aim to further strengthen our impact in the scientific community of Cyprus. We are grateful to THI for sharing Cyprus Seeds’ vision."
