On November 8, the restored Aurora Park officially opened in the Souni–Zanatzia area. It’s a place that just months ago was deeply affected by wildfires. Today, thanks to a collaboration between the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation and Enalian Consulting, the park has been transformed.

The opening ceremony gathered local residents, families and community representatives, and featured a symbolic tree planting, a new playground for children and creative activities that brought together generations with one message: even after the fire, life can bloom again.

“This park is more than just a space – it’s a statement of hope and resilience. We named it Aurora as a symbol of a new beginning,” said Kateryna Biloruska, Founder of the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation. “Through this project, we wanted to show that community spirit and care for the environment can heal even the most damaged places. Aurora Park now stands as a reminder that every ending can become a new beginning.”

Enalian Consulting, stressed the importance of long-term sustainability and community involvement: “Rebuilding after the fires is not just about planting trees,  it’s about restoring people’s connection to nature and to each other. Aurora Park is a great example of how collaboration between local communities and organisations can bring meaningful change,” noted Michaella Pillakouri, CEO of Enalian Consulting.

Located on Phoivou Fragkou Street, the renewed park will serve as a hub for environmental education, recreation, and community engagement. Each new tree planted during the ceremony represents a collective promise to protect the environment and ensure a greener, safer future for the next generation.

As the first visitors walked through the newly opened park, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, gratitude and optimism. As the relevant press release said, "It's proof that when communities unite for a cause, true restoration begins not just in nature, but in people’s hearts".

Through joint efforts of the Enalian Consulting and Kateryna Biloruska Foundation, one tier of the park is completely renovated and landscaped. They also installed the necessary water supply systems. The Foundation fully equipped the second tier with children's equipment and a recreation area where families can gather, relax and spend time together.

The organisers said they are also very grateful to the local municipality for its support in organising this initiative and to MMV Progress Ltd for the installation of the playground. "They hope that this park will also become a local eco-hub for young people, where they can develop their initiatives and promote sustainable development goals."
