Critical issues concerning geopolitical dilemmas, energy transition, green development, tariffs and energy production capabilities in competitive environments were at the centre of discussion by Takis Arapoglou, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Cyprus.
As part of the 9th Business Leaders Summit, the Chairman assumed the role of moderator in a fireside chat with Evangelos Mytilineos, Chairman and CEO of METLEN Energy & Metals, transforming the discussion into a deep, substantive analysis of the future of the economy in Cyprus, Greece and globally.
Through targeted questions, Mytilineos, before the distinguished business audience, developed his strategies, his experiences from international markets and METLEN's prospects for collaborations with Cyprus.
Among the key conclusions of the panel were the need for a strategy for Cyprus' energy independence, the path of the green transition and the prospect of collaboration between Greek and Cypriot companies in the field of defence and high-tech products. Mytilineos also underlined the crucial importance of always looking ahead, preparing for the future and combining experience with innovation.
The result was a discussion that kept the audience engaged and offered valuable conclusions for the development of the economy, the strengthening of competitiveness and the exploitation of Cyprus's potential in the international business environment.
