Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou, is embarking on a four-day working visit to Abu Dhabi and Athens for a series of high-level meetings focused on energy cooperation.
His trip coincides with the ADIPEC 2025 international energy exhibition and conference, as well as the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Transatlantic Partnership for Energy Cooperation (P-TEC).
According to an announcement from the Ministry of Energy, Papanastasiou is beginning his working visit in Abu Dhabi, where ADIPEC 2025 is taking place from November 3 to 6. On Tuesday, 4 November, he is scheduled to take part in two ministerial roundtable discussions.
The first session, titled “Natural gas and LNG: navigating market volatility and supply security risks,” will address challenges in global gas markets. The second, held alongside Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, will focus on Cyprus–Egypt collaboration in hydrocarbons—particularly recent agreements for the development of the Cronos and Aphrodite gas fields within Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone, under the theme “East Mediterranean offshore collaboration and gas flows.”
During his stay in Abu Dhabi, Papanastasiou will also hold bilateral meetings with senior executives from leading energy companies, including ExxonMobil, Eni, Arcius Energy, and McDermott.
On Wednesday evening, 5 November, the Cypriot Minister will travel to Athens to represent the Republic of Cyprus at the 6th P-TEC Ministerial Meeting, which will be held on 6–7 November.
The conference is co-organized by the U.S. Department of Energy, Greece’s Ministry of Environment and Energy, and the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, the ministry’s statement added.
