CYMEPA, the National Coordinator of the international Eco-Schools Programme in Cyprus, is organising the annual Eco-Schools Action and Information Day on Sunday, 2 November 2025, from 11am to 4pm, at the Mall of Cyprus in Latsia.
The event is organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, and Strategic Partner Eurobank, as part of a shared effort to promote environmental awareness and sustainable development through education.
The Action Day will include interactive activities, workshops, educational games and presentations, giving students, teachers, parents and the general public the opportunity to learn about the values of the Eco-Schools Programme and to actively participate in initiatives promoting recycling, energy conservation, waste reduction and environmental protection.
Eco-Schools is a global initiative implemented in more than 70 countries and in hundreds of schools across Cyprus. Its aim is to foster active, environmentally responsible citizens, by encouraging student participation in decision-making and in building green, sustainable school communities.
CYMEPA’s Secretary General, Dr Michael Ierides, stated: “Education for sustainability is the most powerful tool we have to change the mindset of future generations. Through the Eco-Schools Programme, children learn not only to respect nature but also to take meaningful action for a more sustainable future.”
The event is open to the public and welcomes children and adults who wish to learn more about the work of the Eco-Schools and participate in hands-on environmental education activities.
