With a strong sense of pride and commitment to our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy, Safe Bulkers Inc., a listed company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and its CEO Polys V. Hajioannou, held the 5th Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony on Monday, 25 October, 2025, at the company’s offices in Limassol.
Now in its fifth consecutive year, this initiative began with the vision of supporting young students in Cyprus and has since grown into a meaningful institution that continues to inspire, empower, and reward excellence.
The event was honored by the presence of Zoe Polydorou, First Education Officer & Limassol District Inspector, Yiannis Armeftis, Mayor of Limassol, and Yiannis Tsoulouftas, President of the Limassol District Organization of Local Authorities.
Each year, our scholarship program recognizes students who stand out for their ethos, dedication, and academic excellence. This year, ten outstanding students studying at universities in Greece and abroad were selected through a rigorous evaluation process, meeting both academic and social criteria.
The 5th Annual Scholarship Program for the 2025–2026 academic year awarded ten (10) scholarships of €10,000 each to Cypriot citizens or Greek nationals residing in Cyprus, pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies at leading international universities in the following disciplines:
