“National resilience is not achieved merely through change; it is the product of vision, discipline and cooperation,” stated Deputy Minister to the President Irene Piki, speaking at the 16th Limassol Economic Forum.
Piki highlighted how the government is building the country’s economic resilience through targeted public policies, focusing on three interconnected pillars: reform, investment, and institutional integrity. As she explained, these pillars form a comprehensive national strategy that enables Cyprus to turn challenges into opportunities, shaping an economy that is more resilient, innovative, and globally connected than ever before.
“Reform is the architecture of the future,” she noted, adding that President Nikos Christodoulides has placed reforms at the heart of the government’s agenda, with the goal of improving outcomes for citizens and businesses. She stressed that a strong economy is based on a government that creates the right conditions for growth - providing stability, clarity, flexibility, and trust.
In conclusion, she underlined that significant reforms have already moved from the planning stage to implementation, transforming the way the state interacts with citizens and businesses - from the modernization of the justice system and tax reform to the acceleration of digital transformation.
