In the intricate world of private markets, where timing is everything and strategy defines success, Petros Krappas stands out as one of the professionals who truly understands the pulse of the industry. Managing Director at Cambridge Associates, based in London, and a member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Team, Krappas doesn’t just track markets — he decodes them.
And this November, he’s heading to Cyprus for the 11th International Funds Summit 2025 (2–3 November, Parklane Resort & Spa, Limassol), where he’ll share his perspective on one of the industry’s most pressing questions: Where are private markets headed next?
The Analyst Who Turns Data into Foresight
Petros Krappas’ world revolves around numbers — but for him, numbers tell human stories. As part of Cambridge Associates’ global Private Equity & Venture Capital Research Team, he spends his time analyzing not just performance metrics, but also the people, strategies, and behavioral shifts behind them.
His work blends quantitative rigor with strategic intuition. It’s not just about monitoring market data; it’s about understanding why certain trends unfold and when they’re likely to shift.
From Piraeus to London – and into the Heart of Cambridge Associates
A proud Greek professional with a truly global career, Krappas’ path began in Athens, where he earned his BSc in Statistics from the University of Piraeus, before pursuing an MSc in International Money, Finance, and Investments at Durham University in the UK.
Early on, he entered the private markets universe at VenCap International, one of the UK’s established venture capital investors. He later joined Pathway Capital Management, where as Vice President he focused on European private equity primary investments and co-investments, gaining a deep understanding of both sides of the private capital equation — fund managers and investors.
Today, at Cambridge Associates, Krappas oversees due diligence, manager selection, and market analysis across the global private equity and venture capital landscape. As a CFA charterholder and a trusted advisor to institutional clients, he bridges the gap between data and decision-making — translating complexity into clarity.
Private Markets in Transition
The International Funds Summit 2025 comes at a pivotal time for private markets. The era of cheap capital and aggressive valuations is over; investors are recalibrating. Risk, liquidity, and value creation are being redefined.
Krappas’ session in Limassol will address the transformation of Private Equity and Venture Capital — not just as asset classes, but as evolving ecosystems.
Among his focus points:
- How institutional investors are rethinking private markets exposure amid inflation and interest rate volatility.
- The maturing of Private Equity, shifting from growth-at-all-costs to sustainable, value-driven investing.
- The evolution of Venture Capital, as tech innovation collides with market realism.
- The rise of co-investments and transparency, reshaping the relationships between LPs and GPs.
Krappas’ insights stem from the vantage point of Cambridge Associates — a firm that has advised endowments, pension funds, sovereign institutions, and family offices for decades.
Cyprus: A Rising Hub for Global Capital
There’s a reason why the Funds Summit has found its home in Cyprus. The island has evolved into one of the region’s most dynamic financial centers — a gateway between Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, offering stability, accessibility, and sophistication.
Organised under the auspices of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) and Invest Cyprus, the 11th Cyprus International Funds Summit will once again bring together a global audience — from UBS Asset Management, Apollo Global Management, BlackRock, Brookfield, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, to regulators, institutional investors, and fund managers from over 30 countries.
For two days, Limassol will transform into a strategic crossroads of ideas, capital, and collaboration, where data meets dialogue and vision meets investment.
