Cyprus Forum 2025: Cyprus at the Heart of Dialogue on Democracy and Peace

The Cyprus Forum 2025 returns to Nicosia from 1 to 3 October, with a bold vision to strengthen democracy, transparency, and sustainable development. Now in its sixth consecutive year, the Forum brings together leading politicians, academics, business leaders, and civil society representatives for a high-level exchange of ideas and solutions.

The countdown to Cyprus Forum 2025 has begun, as the event prepares to once again transform Nicosia into a hub of dialogue and thought leadership. Over the course of three days, political leaders, intellectuals, academics, entrepreneurs, and civil society advocates will convene to address the major challenges facing Cyprus, Europe, and the broader region.

This year’s conference will take place across several landmark locations in the capital, including the Old Nicosia Town Hall and the historic Ledra Palace Hotel. Discussions will focus on critical topics such as democratic resilience, energy transition, Cyprus’ European trajectory, anti-corruption efforts, and global geopolitical dynamics.

Key highlights will include keynote speeches from prominent political figures, including the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou. The presence of European Commissioners and senior EU officials is also expected to underscore the Forum’s growing international profile.

The programme features over 50 sessions, panel discussions, and side events spanning a wide range of themes—from economic development and employment to technology, the environment, and international affairs.

Distinguished participants will include:

  • Michalis Argyrou, Chief Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece
  • Irene Piki, Deputy Minister to the President of the Republic of Cyprus
  • Yiannis Panayiotou, Minister of Labour and Social Insurance
  • Giorgos Papanastasiou, Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry
  • Nikodimos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy
  • Nicholas Ioannides, Deputy Minister of Migration & International Protection

A special moment of the Forum will be the presentation of the Peace and Democracy Award, honouring individuals who have worked tirelessly to promote dialogue and reconciliation both in Cyprus and internationally.

Once again, Nicosia will become a vibrant meeting point of ideas and public discourse—giving a platform to those who envision a more just, democratic, and sustainable society.

Nikolas Kyriakides, Executive Chair and Co-Founder of the Cyprus Forum, stated:

“Cyprus Forum 2025 will once again serve as a vital platform for public dialogue, highlighting the issues that impact Cyprus, Europe, and our region. Through open discussion and meaningful collaboration, we can strengthen democracy and find solutions to the major challenges of our time.”
