The Mare Ayia Napa hotel, which stands out both for its architecture and for its sense of being a modern "village", based on a community philosophy is experiencing a highly successful year, despite multiple challenges due mainly to geopolitical developments.
In an interview in the August online edition of the Cyprus Hotel Association's monthly publication 'Xenodochos' the General Manager of Mare Ayia Napa Tassos Kontos, outlines the hotel's history and the elements that make it stand out, while also referring to future investment plans.
Regarding the elements of the hotel that make it stand out and the visitors it attracts, Kontos says that Mare Ayia Napa stands out both for its architecture and for its sense of being a modern "village", based on a community philosophy, with comfortable, modern spaces, spacious rooms with modern amenities, as well as a multitude of choices in restaurants and services.
"We place particular emphasis on the quality of service, offering sea-based experiences and a hospitality culture that meets the needs of every visitor," he notes.
Another important advantage of the hotel, Kontos emphasises, is the family atmosphere and family-friendly facilities, which make it particularly popular with family travellers.
At the same time, the hotel attracts couples and visitors who seek comfort, quality and comprehensive amenities in a destination that combines relaxation and activities.

Changes in visitor mentality
Regarding the changes he has observed in the hotel's guests, Kontos says that "in recent years we have observed clear changes in the mentality of guests. Customers are now more demanding and more informed. They have easy access to the internet and use review platforms to carefully choose their accommodation, being particularly influenced by the comments and experiences of other guests.”
According to him, customers are now looking for authentic experiences, high-quality services, and transparency regarding what is offered.

Also, service and cleanliness have emerged as top priorities, he adds, indicating that "a beautiful location is no longer enough, the visitor wants to feel that his choice is justified on every level."
In relation to what customers/visitors are asking for most, the General Manager of Mare Ayia Napa underlines that "our hotel customers and visitors are increasingly demanding personalised services that meet their individual needs, with an emphasis on comfort, service and flexibility."
At the same time, he notes, they show particular interest in sustainable practices and environmentally friendly choices, as well as in modern technological comforts, such as fast internet access and digital services.
Furthermore, they appreciate experiences that combine relaxation with local culture and gastronomy.

Future plans
Asked about future plans for the hotel, Kontos emphasises in his interview that "we continue to invest in improving our product, aiming to offer top quality and unforgettable experiences to every visitor."
"We focus on technological upgrades that make the stay more comfortable and personalised, on renewing infrastructure and enhancing our services, while placing particular emphasis on sustainability," he adds.
At the same time, concludes Kontos, "we create authentic experiences that highlight the local culture and natural environment of Ayia Napa, enhancing the special character of Mare Ayia Napa."
