On Saturday, August 2, the 'ONE ISLAND, ONE HEART' charity music marathon took place, organised by representatives of Cyprus’s event industry in collaboration with The Warehouse by IT Quarter, and supported by the environmental organisation City Friends Club and the family of Alexey and Anna Gubarev.
Due to the combined efforts of the organisers, artists and guests, €20 000 was raised in support of the residents of Limassol’s mountain villages affected by the devastating wildfire at the end of July. This amount includes proceeds from ticket sales and audience donations, a personal contribution from the Gubarev family, contribution from GDCy (GameDev Cyprus) community members and Tim Fadeev, as well as 100% of pizza sales donated by Dodo Pizza.
The event was held at the covered venue The Warehouse by IT Quarter and attracted several hundred guests. More than 35 musicians and DJs took the stage, coming together with one shared purpose – to support those affected by the tragedy.
All funds raised will be directed specifically to support residents of the fire-affected villages, according to their current needs.
