President Christodoulides meets with investors in London

The economic strategy of his government aiming to attract foreign investment to Cyprus was set out by the President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides at a closed meeting with investors and entrepreneurs in London.

In his introductory remarks at the 16 April meeting organised by ‘Cypriots in the City’ at the Republic’s High Commission headquarters in central London, President Christodoulides noted that his government’s economic policy has been and will continue to be guided by a three-pillar approach.

“First of all, fiscal discipline and responsibility; second, bold and continuous reform; and stable and healthy financial sector. So, all of our decisions are based on this three-pillar approach”, said President Christodoulides.

Before opening the floor to questions, comments and ideas from the participants, he also noted his government’s emphasis on the effort “to enhance the resilience and competitiveness” of the Cypriot economy.

The President of the Republic also commented he was very glad that second and third generation Cypriots of Britain, as well as professionals from Cyprus are working in firms of the economic sector in London.

In the evening, President Christodoulides attended, as guest of honour, a dinner to celebrate with members of the Cypriot diaspora in the UK the 90th anniversary of the Greek Cypriot Brotherhood, an active organisation of the UK Cypriot community.
