Official launch of United Rescue Cyprus hailed as new era in emergency medical response

United Rescue Cyprus, an innovative, volunteer-based rapid response system, has officially launched in Cyprus and aims to transform the way life-saving medical care is delivered across the island.

Drawing on the expertise of United Rescue of Israel – a model that successfully mobilises over 9,000 volunteers and reaches incidents within 90 seconds in major urban areas – United Rescue Cyprus aims to bridge the critical gap between the onset of a medical emergency and the arrival of an ambulance.

By harnessing the power of cutting-edge technology, specialised training, and community-driven volunteerism, United Rescue Cyprus offers a new solution to enhance public health and emergency services.

During a press conference to announce the launch, founding members — Exness Global Ltd, Bbf Global Limited, Maxim Pasik, Nikolaos Zamboglou, Letshelp, Soteris Pittas & Co LLC, Soteris Pittas, and Magnumserve Ltd — together with an initial team of trained volunteers introduced the project and its vision. They emphasised that United Rescue Cyprus is not merely a new emergency care model, but a movement built on humanity, innovation, and shared responsibility.

An open invitation was extended to all citizens to receive training and join the network of first responders, enabling them to become everyday heroes and play a vital part in saving lives. Sponsors, partners, and members of the local community were also called upon to support the initiative.

United Rescue Cyprus officially launches its pilot program in Limassol, with a dynamic team that includes doctors, nurses and trained volunteers. The program is expected to gradually expand across the island, aiming to reach every individual in need of assistance in record time.

United Rescue Cyprus services are offered free of charge, without discrimination, to all.

Maxim Pasik, President and Co-Founder of United Rescue Cyprus and Vice President of Letshelp Charitable Foundation stated: “United Rescue Cyprus was founded on a simple yet profound truth: Everyone who saves one soul is as if he saved the entire world. Together, as a united community, we can be everywhere we are needed. In emergencies, every second matters—often, it’s the difference between life and death. That’s why we invite every person in Cyprus: if you are ready to learn, to care, and to act—join us and be a hero, saving people.”

Soteris Pittas, Managing Director of Soteris Pittas & Co LLC and Magnumserve Ltd, Founder, Vice President of Letshelp Charitable Foundation and Co-Founder of United Rescue Cyprus added: “Supporting United Rescue Cyprus is a call to all of us – individuals and companies alike – to stand together for a cause that transcends personal interest: saving lives. I believe that together we can change the way emergency care is delivered in Cyprus, and I encourage everyone to join us in this vital mission to save lives and create a safer future for all.”

Martin Thorvaldsson, Community Director of Exness Global Ltd, said: “Exness is committed to acting as a responsible corporate citizen and to making a lasting contribution to the Cyprus community. We believe that one of the most effective ways to achieve this is through the United Rescue Cyprus first aid responder network. As a founding member, we are dedicated to spearheading this initiative and intend to encourage our employees to volunteer as first responders in the future. It is our hope and expectation that additional organisations will join us in this endeavour, enabling us collectively to make Cyprus even better.”

Lefteris Konstantinou - General Director, BBF Global LTD, commented: “As the leader of Cyprus real estate development market bbf: is highly committed to making life in Cyprus better in many aspects. We joined as founding members of United Rescue Cyprus, because it is an ambitious project with valuable input for well-being of the people living in the island. Finally, Dr Nikolaos Zamboglou, Founder and CEO of German Medical Institute and Co-Founder of United Rescue Cyprus, said: “In many emergencies, the time to provide First Aid is crucial to save lives. In everyday life, the existing structures of the Health System - and this applies not only to Cyprus, but to most countries - are unable to ensure that First Aid is provided within a few minutes. Volunteerism has always - even since the time of Henry Dunant - covered needs that the state is unable to meet. The intention of 'United Rescue Cyprus' is to organise conditions where coordinated, qualified volunteers can provide First Aid, saving lives.”
