Logicom Cyprus Marathon takes place in Pafos this weekend

The Logicom Cyprus Marathon is taking place in Pafos this weekend, 8 & 9 March, promising “the ultimate runcation destination”.

With the finish line ending at the 13th-century Pafos Castle, running enthusiasts will get to enjoy a Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10km Road Race, and 5km Sunset Run, topped off with the Cyprus Wine Run, taking the scenic roads and vineyards of Polemi, nestled in the Pafos District.

Cyprus Marathon

The main race of the event weekend is the Marathon (42.2km/26.2 miles) which features breath-taking scenery from Start to Finish. Starting at Aphrodite’s Birthplace, the course follows a coastal route along the Mediterranean Sea. Throughout the course runners will discover traditional villages of Pafos and enjoy the famous Mediterranean hospitality with fluid stations every 2.5km and cheering support.

The course is accredited by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) and is clearly marked at every kilometre. The race is managed under World Athletics rules.

The Marathon will start from Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Birthplace) at exactly 7:00 am on Sunday 9 March.

Half-Marathon

A flat, fast course along the Mediterranean sea, this is the most popular distance of the Logicom Cyprus Marathon events and it includes 6 fluid stations. It starts in front of the Pafos Castle at exactly 8:00 am on Sunday 9 March.

10km Road Race

One of the most popular distances of the event, which consists of a flat route alongside the picturesque Poseidonos Avenue just a few meters from the beach. Full of palm trees and cheerful spectators, choose this race for a quick pace and to enjoy the buzz of the Pafos city. It starts in front of the Pafos Castle at exactly 8:20 am on Sunday 9 March.

5km Sunset Run

Running next to the Archaeological Park of Pafos and right next to the Mediterranean sea is exactly the perfect scenery to enjoy a beautiful sunset on Saturday afternoon. Perfect for a team building activity and for competition between friends and colleagues. It starts in front of the Pafos Castle on Saturday 8 March, at exactly 4:00 pm.

Cyprus Wine Run

The Cyprus Wine Run takes the scenic roads and vineyards of Polemi, nestled in the Paphos District. The event is set to start at the Metochi Cultural Centre at Polemi Village, which promises an authentic Cypriot experience. With the race scheduled for Tuesday, 11 March, participants will enjoy a unique blend of culture, nature and running.

The route of 4 kilometres will guide runners through picturesque vineyards, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of Polemi, located at an elevation of 463 meters, you’ll run through landscapes full of the village’s naturally occurring red tulips and expansive vine fields.

Logicom Cyprus Marathon has partnered with the esteemed Tsalapatis Winery, a producer of exquisite wines from native and European varieties. Participants will be treated to a bottle of wine from Tsalapatis, celebrating the rich tapestry of Cypriot wine making.

After crossing the finish line, runners will have the opportunity to feast on traditional food cocktail as well as indulge in wine tasting.

The package includes Race Entry, Race Technical T-shirt, Medal, Bottle of Wine, Wine Tasting, Race Number, Results, Traditional Finger Food Cocktail, Bus Transfers from Kato Pafos to the Cultural Centre, Introduction to Wine History and the Village.
