The Cyprus Property Developers Association recently met with a delegation from the Finance Ministry, including Permanent Secretary Andreas Zachariades, to discuss issues of concern in the property development industry that fall within the ministry’s remit.

Announcing the news, the association said that the meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, given the land development industry’s key role in the economy. It said it focused on issues that the ministry is directly responsible for, and concerns among industry stakeholders were voiced.

The association’s president, Yiannis Misirlis – also Founder and Chairman of Imperio Properties – underlined the sector’s significant contribution to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). It employs thousands of workers and attracts substantial investments, and its progress is directly linked to cyprus’ economic growth and its people’s well-being.

Held on 18 March, the meeting was attended by Misirlis and Zachariades, along with the Head of the Tax Policy Unit, Nayia Symeonidou, and Deputy Tax Commissioner Ioannis Zevlaris. Also representing the Association were Vice President Andreas Assiotis and Executive Secretary Mersina Isidorou.
