No additional extension has been given to the projects related to the integrated development of the Port and Marina of Larnaca and they must start next June, the Municipality of Larnaca has said in a statement, also noting that the decision was taken unanimously by the Larnaca City and District Development Committee.

In the statement, the Municipality of Larnaca says that "a meeting of the Larnaca City and District Development Committee was held on Friday, 19 April, at the Municipality’s Multipurpose Centre for Social Welfare and Employment, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeades. The subject of the meeting was the update on the progress of the implementation of the project of the unified development of Larnaca Port and Marina".

As reported, the Mayor of Larnaca informed those attending about the meeting he had on the matter at the Presidential Office on 15 April and Vafeades briefed them on all the actions carried out regarding the contract between the Government and the contracting company and answered questions in relation to the contract.

At the end of the meeting, Larnaca City and District Development Committee, as noted, "unanimously decided that the guarantee be paid immediately by the contractor company, that all the infrastructure projects included in the contract be implemented for the good of the city, without any discounts, and that under no circumstances will an additional extension be granted and the works will start in June 2024."\
