The "Inspire to Lead: An Artistic Exploration" exhibition at The Island Private School of Limassol showcases artworks by students from across IB Primary and Secondary School, celebrating creativity and talent within the school community.

Who are you expecting to attend the exhibition and how long will it run for?

We are expecting to welcome parents, staff members of our school, fellow students, and art enthusiasts from the local community. The exhibition will run for 2 days: Friday 17:00-21:30 and Saturday: 10-12:00, at Gallery Morfi in Limassol.

Why do you believe it is important to promote art and culture at schools? How heavily do they feature in The Island Private School of Limassol’s curriculum?

Promoting art and culture at schools is important for a lot of reasons. Firstly, it fosters creativity and self-expression among students, allowing them to explore and develop their artistic talents. Secondly, it encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as art often involves experimentation and innovation.

Additionally, exposure to different cultures through art can broaden students' perspectives and promote understanding and tolerance.

I also want to add that according to International Baccalaureate approach the arts are equally as important as other subjects and equally valued by us as a school. Developing creativity is a key part of children's development and flourishing as young people

As for The Island Private School of Limassol, we give an emphasis on art and culture in their curriculum, considering the commitment to hosting exhibitions like "Inspire to Lead: An Artistic Exploration." By incorporating art and culture into their educational programs, the school can provide students with a well-rounded education that nurtures their artistic abilities and cultural awareness.

Within our school, Arts and culture play are deeply integrated in the curriculum, extending beyond Visual Arts to encompass Theatre, Music, and Dance. Recent events like the theatre production of "The Little Prince" highlight the school's commitment to providing students with diverse opportunities for artistic expression.
