200 free seats for people with disabilities at Cyprus’ EuroBasket 2025 games

Forty seats will be allocated for each of the five games of the Cyprus national team at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025, totalling 200 seats, specifically reserved for individuals with disabilities (PWDs) holding a European Disability Card. These games will take place next summer in Limassol.

The initiative is a collaboration between the Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBF), the Organising Committee of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 in Cyprus, and the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.

At each game, 40 designated seats for PWDs will be made available at a predetermined area in the "Spyros Kyprianou" Athletic Center in Limassol. To express interest, eligible individuals can send an email to ticketing@cyp.eb2025.com including their full name, age, and European Disability Card number.

After the group draw scheduled for 27 March 2025, the ticketing department of the Organising Committee will contact those who expressed interest to allow them to select their preferred game and date. Priority will strictly follow the order in which requests were received.

Andreas Mouzourides: "EuroBasket 2025 will be the largest event ever held in Cyprus"

The President of the Cyprus Basketball Federation, Andreas Mouzourides, stated: "EuroBasket 2025, hosted by our country, will be the largest event ever held in Cyprus and the most historic sporting moment for our nation. As organisers, we have a significant responsibility to ensure all citizens can access this event. In collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, and following our recent meeting with Deputy Minister Ms. Marilena Evaggelou, we decided to allocate 40 seats per game to holders of the European Disability Card. This initiative is not just a gesture of social sensitivity but also a message: Sports are for everyone, without discrimination."

The Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Marilena Evaggelou, remarked: "The role of sports in promoting social inclusion is of utmost importance. FIBA EuroBasket 2025, one of the largest international sporting events hosted in our country, is a unique opportunity to highlight the significance of sports in fostering social integration, especially for individuals with disabilities. The collaboration between the Deputy Ministry and the Cyprus Basketball Federation is part of a broader effort to build a society without discrimination, barriers, or exclusion, where every citizen enjoys equal opportunities for participation. I am confident that the event will provide unforgettable moments for all fans."
