Average gross monthly earnings of employees up 6% in Q2 2024

Τhe average gross monthly earnings of employees during the second quarter of 2024 recorded an increase of 6%, compared to the same quarter of 2023, according to Cystat.

Τhe average gross monthly earnings amounted to €2,398 compared to €2,262 during the second quarter of 2023. The average gross monthly earnings during the second quarter of 2024, seasonally adjusted, are estimated at €2,475 and compared to the first quarter of 2024 they are increased by 1.6%.

The average gross monthly earnings of male employees during the second quarter of 2024 are estimated at €2,606 and of female employees at €2,141. Compared to the second quarter of 2023, the average gross monthly earnings of male and female employees recorded an increase of 6.4% and 5.6% respectively.

Out of all employees, 39% receives less than €1,500 a month, while another 39% has earnings between €1,500-€2,999. 12% of the employees receive between €3,000-€4,499, 6% €4,500-€5,999 and 4% of the employees receive €6,000 or more.

The average gross monthly earnings of 34% of Cypriot employees and 51% of non-Cypriots is less than €1,500. 3% of Cypriots and 7% of non-Cypriots have earnings of €6,000 or more.
