President in Malta for MED9 Summit

President Nikos Christodoulides is heading to Malta to participate in the MED9 Summit, which will take place in Valletta.

According to an official statement, President Christodoulides will brief his counterparts on developments regarding the Cyprus problem, as well as on the results of his recent contacts at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, while among the issues to be discussed at the Summit are the Southern Neighbourhood Policy, the EU Enlargement, as well as issues related to the preparation of the upcoming European Councils in October, where, inter alia, Migration and Economy will be discussed.

It is noted that the Summit will also be attended by the President of France and the Prime Ministers of Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Portugal, Croatia, Slovenia and the host country Malta. After the discussions, the leaders will make statements to the media and then proceed to Medina, where they will attend a working dinner.

The President will be accompanied by the Director of the President's Press Office, Victor Papadopoulos, and officials, the statement concluded.
