John Christodoulou: Dream big, work hard and never give up!

As the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation’s much-anticipated LOVE CYPRUS event prepares to get underway, aimed at promoting creativity among the student world and upgrading Cypriot schools, businessman John Christodoulou’s message is clear: Dream big, work hard and never give up!

The businessman said the aim of LOVE CYPRUS is to give pupils and students in local schools the opportunity to develop their creative skills to promote Cypriot culture and traditions to local and international visitors to the island. The prize money will go towards implementing infrastructure, innovation and purchase of equipment for the winning schools.

“Through the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation, among other things I wish to empower young people to fight for a better future,” said Christodoulou. “I want to motivate them to dream big, work hard and never give up on their dreams, even if they don’t succeed the first time.”

Providing opportunities for all children and young people to demonstrate and develop their talents, while encouraging them to be actively engage in common causes, is of great importance, he added.

“Young people need to envision a positive and exciting future that offers them great prospects, and to identify their own individual qualities and talents so as to succeed in their adult lives,” said the businessman. “I believe that education and family are the two most important drivers of change in the world. By providing our support to children in need, upgrading their learning environment and enriching their opportunities, we can better promote their greater inclusion and participation in everything that life has to offer. I have learned to give, not because I have a lot today but because I know how it feels to have very little. Being able to return to my homeland, Cyprus, and give something substantial back to my community is both rewarding and motivating.”

He concluded, “Through the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation, we are giving in order to create the opportunities that will enable future generations to progress”.
