Windsor Brokers upgrades its trading platform with AWS

Cyprus-based Windsor Brokers has upgraded its online trading platform with the help of Amazon Web Services (AWS), offering its clients the ability to trade in real time, with fewer delays and the best possible user experience.

The global financial markets function in near-real time, and for Windsor Brokers’ clients to take part, they also need to execute transactions and exchange information at the same speed. This means low latency is critical for the company.

Windsor Brokers provides an online trading platform that allows real-time trades in 200+ financial instruments across nine asset classes. The company’s mobile and desktop apps are used by customers in 80 countries. Windsor Brokers planned a migration to AWS to improve its platform performance and the user experience of its services.

The company consolidated its business applications and more than 170 servers onto AWS using the AWS Migration Acceleration Programme. The company’s platform is now responsive at all times, supports near-real time trading, and automatically scales to meet demand. In addition, its developers are more productive because they can focus on product development and innovation instead of infrastructure maintenance.

The project took about eight months to complete with the use of: Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) to provide secure and resizable compute capacity for virtually any workload. It also uses AWS Elastic Beanstalk to deploy and scale web applications, and Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) to distribute network traffic to improve application scalability.

By choosing AWS, Windsor Brokers has given its clients the ability to manage their accounts in real time and trade effectively whenever they want, wherever they are and on the platform of their choice.

Windsor Brokers is based in Cyprus and serves customers in 80 countries. It was founded in 1988 and is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
