FM: Nicosia remains committed to UN-agreed framework

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos reaffirmed Nicosia's commitment to the UN-agreed framework for a solution to the Cyprus problem, during a meeting with the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative in Cyprus and Head of UNFICYP, Colin Stewart.

The Foreign Ministry said in a Twitter post that the two men had a "useful exchange of views", and that Cyprus and UNFICYP will remain in close contact to achieve this goal.

In another post, the Ministry said that Kombos met with Lebanese Ambassador Claude Hajal to discuss further deepening bilateral relations, and exchange views on aspects of EU-Lebanon cooperation.

Also on Tuesday, the Minister had a "results-oriented discussion" with the Ambassador of Egypt Amr Mohsen Hamza. The discussion focused on further promoting key aspects of bilateral relations, the Cyprus question, energy, as well as regional developments.
