INSPIRE 2026: Evangelia Aspromalli says younger generations need to feel valued at work

The role of HR has become more challenging as different generations enter the workplace, Evangelia Aspromalli, the Group HR Manager of the Zorbas Group, said on Wednesday at INSPIRE 2026's Future of Work stage.

Speaking on why people choose to work with a specific company, she said: “It is a simple fact of daily life and what they deal with every day.” A person needs to feel that he or she is developing, either with the company or on their career path, she added. “These need to be visible in their work,” according to what Aspromalli said about the cultures of a company and what employees seek.

She added that workers should feel that they have mentors, while younger generations also want to know that they are bringing value to the company. Commenting on a trend of leaving Cyprus to seek a career, she said what is important to retain is to make people feel that there is a chance to build a future on the island.
