Christos Tsagkalidis appointed General Manager of Philip Morris Cyprus

Christos Tsagkalidis has been appointed General Manager of Philip Morris Cyprus. Having led strategic initiatives for Philip Morris International (PMI) at both European and global level, he brings to the role extensive international experience in strategy, business transformation and innovation.

Tsagkalidis joined PMI in 2018 and has since held a series of strategic and operational leadership positions at the company’s headquarters. Most recently, as Head of Strategy & Program Delivery Europe, he led initiatives supporting PMI’s transformation and the advancement of its vision for a smoke-free future. During his time at PMI, he has contributed to the design and coordination of transformation and operational excellence programmes across key areas of the business, including finance and corporate affairs, helping drive the delivery of the company’s strategic priorities.

Before joining PMI, Tsagkalidis developed extensive experience in business consulting, entrepreneurship and international business across multiple markets and multinational environments. His expertise spans change management, digital transformation, operational excellence and organisational development. His leadership approach combines strategic thinking with a strong focus on building high-performing teams and supporting people’s professional development.

Christos Tsagkalidis holds an MSc in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with studies at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and an Executive MBA from INSEAD in France and Singapore.
