The average gross monthly salaries of employees in the first quarter of 2026 are estimated at €2,601, compared with €2,508 in the first quarter of 2025, representing a 3.7 per cent increase, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Statistical Service.
According to preliminary data, for the first quarter of 2026, there was a 0.8 per cent increase in the seasonally adjusted average gross earnings compared with the fourth quarter of 2025.
As stated, the average gross monthly earnings for men in the first quarter of 2026 are estimated at €2,776 and for women at €2,378, whilst compared with the first quarter of 2025, the average monthly earnings for men and women rose by 3.3 per cent and 4.2 per cent respectively.
It is noted that the largest proportion of employees falls into the €1,500–€2,999 gross monthly earnings bracket, with the distribution varying by nationality, as Cypriots are mainly concentrated in the €1,500–€2,999 bracket, while non-Cypriots show a higher concentration in the bracket below €1,500.
