Bolt has announced that, in order to protect the health and safety of its delivery partners, it is temporarily suspending deliveries made using two-wheeled vehicles via the Bolt Food platform today, Wednesday, 22 July from noon to 4pm in compliance with the emergency measures and instructions of the competent authorities, due to extremely high temperatures.
Deliveries will continue to be made using cars and, as a result, increased delivery times may occur.
According to the announcement, the decision was made following the issuance of an orange warning by the Department of Meteorology and the relevant instructions from the competent state services to limit outdoor work during hours when extreme temperatures are expected to prevail.
Bolt is constantly monitoring weather conditions and is continuously evaluating the official instructions of the competent authorities, in order to promptly take all necessary measures to protect its partners, the announcement continued.
At the same time, the company reminds all partner distributors of the importance of following heat protection instructions, such as frequent hydration, regular breaks in cool areas and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun.
Alexandros Lambrou, Bolt Country Manager in Cyprus, stated, "The safety and health of our distributor partners are an absolute priority for us. In conditions of extreme heat, we consider it self-evident that the protection of people who are on the road every day must precede business continuity. For this reason, we have temporarily suspended deliveries carried out by two-wheeled vehicles during the hours when temperatures are at their highest, while deliveries continue by car, in full alignment with the instructions of the competent authorities. We thank our distributor partners for their professionalism and our customers for their understanding, as delays in deliveries may occur. We continue to take every necessary measure so that the platform operates responsibly and with people's safety in mind, above all."
The announcement continued that Bolt thanks its customers for their understanding and cooperation during the implementation of the emergency measures and will resume motorcycle deliveries as soon as conditions and instructions from the competent authorities allow.
