Kinisis Ventures Fund II joins New York Angels in $2m investment in Phase3D, expanding its portfolio with strategic US investments

Kinisis Ventures (KV) announced its strategic investment in Phase3D, a Chicago-based innovator in real-time quality assurance for 3D metal printing. The investment is part of a $2M seed financing round alongside New York Angels (NYA) and other investors, including Quest Venture Partners and DMG Mori.

Revolutionising industrial 3D printing

Phase3D's proprietary Fringe Inspection™ technology provides a universal quality assurance solution for the metal additive manufacturing industry, utilizing high-resolution, camera-based sensing. Unlike only AI-based approaches, the system produces physics-based measurements that meet government certification requirements, drastically cutting the time and cost associated with post-build testing and part qualification for aerospace and defense. The technology has been validated through $3.5M in non-dilutive grants from the US Air Force, NASA, and the Navy.

The company has a strong commercial track record, with $4m in total revenue generated between 2023 and 2025 and 25+ paying deployments at customers including Boeing, GE Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, and NASA.

Phase3D reflects KV's continued conviction in companies that combine proprietary hardware with intelligence software to solve real industrial and scientific challenges - a thesis equally evident in portfolio companies such as Autonomics and Embio Diagnostics.

A commitment to global stature and local growth

"Investing in Phase3D through our New York Angels affiliation is a natural evolution for Kinisis Ventures. It allows us to deepen our US sourcing capabilities while bringing industrial AI and additive manufacturing expertise into our portfolio, and by participating in US deals as a Cypriot VC, we are helping demonstrate that Cyprus is an active and sophisticated player in the global venture ecosystem," Andreas Panayi, Co-Founder, Kinisis Ventures commented.
