Mild 0.93% increase in construction materials prices in March

The trend in construction sector prices remains upward, albeit at a moderate pace, according to the latest data released by CySTAT.

The Construction Materials Price Index for March 2026 stood at 119.91 points (base year 2021=100), recording a monthly increase of 0.52%. On an annual basis, the index rose by 0.93%, confirming the continued but mild increase in material costs within the construction sector.

In detail, the largest year-on-year increases compared to March 2025 were observed in electromechanical items (+2.44%). These were followed by products of wood, insulation, chemicals and plastics (+1.44%) and minerals (+1.40%). Smaller increases were recorded in metal products (+0.46%) and mineral products (+0.04%).

For the period January–March 2026, the index recorded an increase of 0.87% compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
