At a time when global economic balances are shifting, India is emerging as one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing markets worldwide. With a vast consumer base, increasing investments, and strong technological advancement, it presents significant opportunities for businesses seeking international expansion and diversification.
Accessing such a complex market, however, requires a strategic understanding of the tax and regulatory framework, as well as strong connections between business ecosystems. In this context, Cyprus can serve as a gateway, leveraging its geostrategic position and its well-developed professional services sector.
The Professional Services Conference 2026 will take place on 21 April at the Hilton Nicosia, bringing together leading professionals, policymakers, and international experts. The conference aims to highlight the developments shaping the future of professional services and to provide practical insights for navigating an increasingly evolving global environment.
At the conference, Chrysilios Pelekanos, President of the Cyprus-India Business Association and executive at PwC Cyprus, will participate in the panel discussion “India Focus: Unlocking a Multi-Trillion Dollar Market.” The discussion will explore the prospects of the Indian market, opportunities for Cypriot and international businesses, as well as the strategies required for successful market entry and growth.
Chrysilios Pelekanos is Head of Indirect Tax Advisory and Head of East Markets & Deputy COO at PwC Cyprus. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, as well as a postgraduate degree in Law with a specialization in Taxation. He has served as President of ICPAC and remains an active member of the VAT Committee, contributing to the development of tax policy in Cyprus. He also has extensive experience as a conference speaker and moderator.
The Professional Services Conference 2026 serves as a key meeting point for industry leaders, highlighting strategies that enhance Cyprus’ international competitiveness. Through themes such as the India and USA markets, taxation, and investment management, the conference offers valuable insights for those aiming to operate in a global business environment.
The conference agenda revolves around a comprehensive analysis of Cyprus as an international business centre and the opportunities it offers in investment, company relocation, and the development of professional services. From the opening address setting the tone for the country’s economic trajectory, to digital transformation and strengthening investor confidence, the conference outlines Cyprus’ prospects and strategic priorities.
Through a series of panel discussions, participants will examine how Cyprus can compete, modernize, and lead in a rapidly changing global economy, with a focus on areas such as the India and USA markets, wealth and family office management, technology, digital assets, the gaming industry, digital entertainment, and investment funds.
