CIBA Joins the European Confederation of International Trading Houses Associations (CITHA)

The Cyprus International Business Association (CIBA) has officially joined the European Confederation of International Trading Houses Associations (CITHA), marking an important step in strengthening Cyprus’ presence within the European international trade community.

CITHA brings together associations and companies engaged in international trading activities across Europe, with the mission of promoting open markets, strengthening cooperation among international trading houses and supporting businesses that operate across global markets.

Welcoming this development, the Presidents of the two organisations highlighted the importance of closer cooperation between European international business communities.

Jan Krückemeyer, President of CITHA, and Vassilios Demetriades, President of CIBA, stated in a joint statement:

“CIBA’s accession to CITHA reflects our shared commitment to strengthening international trade cooperation in Europe. By working together, we aim to support businesses operating across borders, foster resilient trade networks and promote open and competitive markets. In a time of global uncertainty, trusted partnerships between international business communities are essential to sustaining economic growth, stability and long-term cooperation.

Τhe two Presidents further emphasised that stronger collaboration between European trade associations and internationally active companies will play a key role in enhancing Europe’s competitiveness and reinforcing its position in the global trading system.

For Cyprus’ international business community, CIBA’s membership in CITHA creates new opportunities for cooperation, knowledge exchange and participation in European initiatives aimed at strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of international trade.

Given Cyprus’ strategic location and long-standing role as a bridge between Europe, the Middle East and other global markets, the partnership is expected to further strengthen the country’s contribution to the development of resilient and interconnected international trade networks.
