Revenue from tourism up 15.2% in 2025

Revenue from tourism reached new record high, at €3,696.1 million in 2025, up €486.7 million compared to 2024, recording an increase of 15.2%, according to the results of the Passengers Survey, carried out by CySTAT.

In December, revenue from tourism reached €96.7m, recording an increase of 11.3% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (€86.9m).

Expenditure Analysis

The average expenditure per person was €616.29 in December 2025 compared to €653.27 in December 2024, recording a decrease of 5.7%.

Tourists from Israel (the largest tourist market with 19.1% of the total tourists in December 2025) spent on average €145.03 per day, while tourists from the United Kingdom (the second largest market during the specific month with 19% of the total tourists) spent on average €65.39.

Tourists from Poland, the third largest market with 11.3% spent on average €85.69 per day. Detailed statistics on the average expenditure of tourists per person and per day by country of usual residence are presented in the following table.
