The belief that taxation remains the most powerful factor in choosing Cyprus as an investment destination was supported by the CEO of Invest Cyprus , Marios Tannousis.
Tannousis said, in his statement at the 9th Cyprus International Tax Conference – Cyprus Tax Reform 2026: Implementation, Impact & Positioning in a Changing Global Tax Landscape that, based on a recent survey conducted with international businesses in Cyprus, corporate taxation and overall tax policy remain the main criteria for choosing a country. “Even for employees and staff of companies, taxation is extremely important,” he stressed.
Tannousis pointed out that during the first phase of consultation on the tax package, there were many questions and requests from foreign investors and Cypriot service providers. Invest Cyprus actively participated in consultations with stakeholders, including Chambers of Commerce, TechIsland, foreign companies and the Ministry of Finance, to provide clarifications and guidance on the upcoming changes.
As he mentioned, during the second phase of the consultation, there were specific requests and Invest Cyprus forwarded the most critical observations of the investment community to the competent Commissioner, who accepted the meeting and the proposals.
Tannousis emphasised that the government seriously considered the comments and took measures in favor of the investment community, while underlining that the feedback process should continue in the future.
