Seasonally adjusted unemployment in Cyprus at 4.3% in November 2025, according to Eurostat

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Cyprus remained below the European Union average in November 2025, according to data released by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).

More specifically, Cyprus' unemployment rate stood at 4.3% in November, corresponding to approximately 23,000 unemployed persons. This represents a slight increase compared with October, when the unemployment rate was recorded at 4.2%, or around 22,000 individuals.

As regards the European Union, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in November stood at 6.0%, remaining unchanged compared with October. Meanwhile, the corresponding rate in the euro area of 21 countries amounted to 6.3%, also unchanged from the previous month.

The highest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate among the EU’s 27 Member States in November was recorded in Spain (10.4%), followed by Finland (10.1%) and Sweden (9.0%). The lowest rate was observed in Malta (3.1%), followed by Czechia and Poland, both at 3.2%.

With regard to youth unemployment among persons under the age of 25, a total of 2.923 million young people were unemployed in the European Union in November 2025, of whom 2.331 million were in the euro area of 21 countries. The youth unemployment rate in the EU stood at 15.1%, slightly down from 15.2% in October, while in the euro area it declined to 14.6% from 14.8% in the previous month.

As for Cyprus, no youth unemployment rate is reported for November, as the country publishes these statistics on a quarterly basis.

In November 2025, the unemployment rate for women in the EU stood at 6.2%, unchanged compared with the previous month, while the rate for men was 5.8%, also remaining stable month on month. In the euro area, the unemployment rate for women declined to 6.5% from 6.6% in October, while the rate for men stood at 6.1%, unchanged from the previous month.

In Cyprus, female unemployment recorded a slight decrease in November, falling to 4.2% compared with October 2025, while the unemployment rate for men rose to 4.5% from 4.1%.
