CSC takes part in the European Community Shipowners’ Association's 60th Anniversary celebrations

The Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) participated in the anniversary events marking 60 years since the founding of the European Community Shipowners’ Association (ECSA), held on 9–10 December 2025 in Brussels.

The impressive events brought together the European Commissioner for Transport, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, senior officials from the European Commission, Members of the European Parliament, representatives of international shipping organisations, social partners, and leading figures of the European and international shipping community. As part of the celebrations, the conference '60 Years of Being the Voice of European Shipping' was held, in which the Chamber’s Vice-President and Immediate Past President of ECSA, Philippos Philis, participated in a panel discussion together with former and current ECSA Presidents.

"The highly successful events highlighted the vital role of European shipping, not only as a driving force of the economy, but also as a pillar of security, energy adequacy, resilient supply chains, and food security for Europe," a CSC press release noted.

It continued, "The Chamber warmly congratulates the European Community Shipowners’ Associations on its significant 60-year trajectory and reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing actively to the formation of policies for a competitive, sustainable, and resilient European Shipping Industry."
