The importance of the quality investments that Cyprus has managed to attract is demonstrated by the large-scale acquisition agreement of Semrush by Adobe, the CEO of Invest Cyprus, Marios Tannousis has emphasised, explaining that ongoing efforts are also underway to generate other similar investments in the future.
Speaking to InBusinessNews, Tannousis said that the agreement is a tangible example of how other potential opportunities on the island could be made the most of. “We welcome the major acquisition of Semrush, a company that was recently awarded at the 13th Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards, by an international giant such as Adobe. This agreement demonstrates in practice the importance of quality investments that Cyprus has managed to attract,” he noted.
Tangible results with incentives in technology companies
The provision of incentives and support to companies in the technology and IT sector by the Republic of Cyprus continues to bring about results with multiple benefits and facilitates the attraction of such a range of foreign investments. “The government’s policies, the incentives granted and the practical support of technology companies are reflected in the results. In the dynamic international environment, we are called upon to continue to be competitive by attracting large-scale companies and creating jobs, which result from quality investments,” the CEO of Invest Cyprus underlined.
Continuous efforts to generate more investments
Asked whether announcements are expected on other investments in the technology sector, Tannousis explained that the effort is ongoing and that the goal is to bring about other similar investments that highlight Cyprus as an innovation hub. “We recently had the arrival of the American company TKI in the Cypriot market and we are on the right track to attract other technology giants to Cyprus with global know-how and regional experience,” he explained.
The arrival of such high-profile companies, such as Semrush and TKI, is a milestone and at the same time a vote of confidence in Cyprus' thriving technology ecosystem, which is evolving into an international innovation hub.
