Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry George Papanastasiou will have a meeting with the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen and Minister of Environment and Energy of Greece, Stavros Papastavrou, in Brussels, with the aim of assessing the the progress achieved so far and determining the next steps for the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection project (GSI).
Papanastasiou travels to Brussels on Wednesday, 12 November, where he will hold consecutive meetings with EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen and Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection Michael McGrath, a Ministry press release said here today.
According to the press release, "the meeting with the European Commissioner for Energy will also be attended by Minister of Environment and Energy of Greece, Stavros Papastavrou, with the aim of assessing the the progress achieved so far and determining the next steps for the Greece-Cyprus electricity interconnection project (GSI)."
During his meeting with Commissioner McGrath the Cypriot Minister will discuss the priorities of the upcoming Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU in the areas of consumer protection and company law.
