City of Dreams Mediterranean is preparing to celebrate the first anniversary of the Marcos Baghdatis Tennis Academy with a special event, on Wednesday, 15 October, 2025, featuring tennis greats who promise to deliver an unforgettable evening for fans.
Following last year’s successful event with Andre Agassi, the resort will host two of the biggest names in international tennis: siblings Marat Safin and Dinara Safina.
The former world No. 1 players will face Marcos and Karolina Šprem Baghdatis, offering the audience a rare showcase of top-level tennis.
Marat Safin, winner of 15 ATP titles including the 2000 US Open and the 2005 Australian Open, and his sister Dinara Safina, holder of 12 WTA singles titles and nine doubles titles, including the 2007 US Open women’s doubles, will be coming to Cyprus for the first time for such an event.
Marcos Baghdatis said, “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our first anniversary than sharing the court with Marat Safin. He’s a true legend of the game, and our match will be a celebration of tennis — for fans, for the kids training at the academy, and for everyone who loves the sport. It’s about inspiring the next generation and showing them that tennis is as much about joy and connection as it is about competition.”
Founded in 2024, the Marcos Baghdatis Tennis Academy offers personalised training programmes for all ages and skill levels and provides high-level support and professional guidance.
