Bioland Promithia to take part in the Cyprus competitive electricity market

Bioland Promithia, part of Bioland Energy Group Ltd, has announced its participation in the Competitive Electricity Market (CEM), which will come into effect on 1 October, 2025.

In preparation for the market’s launch, Bioland Promithia said it is ready to provide competitive electricity supply programmes for businesses, industries and households.

The plans were presented during an event in Larnaca on 10 September, organised by Eptagon Group, the parent company of Bioland Energy and Bioland Promithia.

According to the company, the new programmes will include residential and corporate options with three-zone flexibility, day, afternoon and night, depending on the energy profile of each consumer.

It explained that the aim is to provide solutions with advantageous pricing and a range of options adapted to demand.

Bioland Energy Group CEO Demetris Constantinides said the opening of the CEM is an important step for Cyprus and a decisive step towards creating a fairer, more competitive energy environment.

“We are fully prepared to enter the new regime, offering advantageous solutions for all consumers,” he said.

He also pointed to the company’s four-year experience in the CEM Trial and its large portfolio of corporate clients as guarantees for success.

Constantinides added that the group’s vision is to reduce electricity tariffs in Cyprus by at least 30 per cent within the next three years, for the benefit of consumers.

With a 14-year presence in the renewables sector, Bioland Energy notes it has invested heavily in research and innovation, creating solutions that cut costs and strengthen sustainability.

The group uses green energy from its photovoltaic parks to supply businesses under the Transitional Regulation of the Electricity Market.

Also its portfolio already includes well-known names from across the commercial and industrial sectors, who benefit from lower energy costs thanks to Bioland’s pricing.
